Holger’s professional obsessions include the transitional moment between two states, glass smashing, and explosions. In his images, destruction is genuinely beautiful—a glittery dusting of glass shards, the luminous lines of a ball of fire. This is only fitting, says the London-based German-born photographer. After all, only in the moment that something breaks apart can you see both its inside and its outside at the same time—and truly gain a deeper understanding of what it is you are looking at.
